An intact immune defence protects our health

The immune system’s task is to protect us against diseases for a long-lasting time. Body’s own defence mechanisms recognise potential pathogens such as viruses, bacteria and fungi, destroy these and eliminate them from our body. A weakened immune system cannot ensure this protective function, sooner or later it leads to illness.

Strengthen and utilize body’s defence

Despite great progresses in the elucidation of manifold functions of the immune system in the recent years the implementation into therapeutic strategies remains in its infancy. How can body’s defences be stimulated to combat diseases and be specifically utilised?

The Leonardis Foundation supports medical-scientific projects which abet the development of new immunologically oriented, health promoting treatment strategies.
